Key Accountabilities
  • Maintain the company’s database systems including performance tuning, monitoring critical events, back-up/restore, archiving and documentation.
  • Manages the day-to-day operations of the Data Center by monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance and repair.
  • Manage and respond to all test environments’ requests from different groups that run different development and integration tasks within the bank.
  • Ensures that records of system downtime and equipment inventory are properly maintained.
  • Applies revisions to host system firmware and software and works with vendors to assist support activities.
  • Manage and ensure that all systems accesses are appropriately handled.
  • Analyses and determines appropriate layout of all equipment’s in data Center with help of balancing and cooling.
  • Extract data from all the banking sources inclusive of the bank’s operating systems, the Customer Relationship Management system,
  • Monitor and supervise all data Center solutions and ensure smooth running of services.
  • Clean up and transform the data as per the user requirement to answer various business questions
  • Develop summary of the data based on the user requirements for information and present the data on appropriate user formats.
  • Install and maintain data centre’s equipment and systems as per the available guidelines and plans to ensure the data centres provide quality services.
  • Maintain data storage infrastructure and all necessary replications and data backups.
  • Attend to data Centre requests to ensure the customer service targets for the section are achieved.
  • Monitor all issues and escalate to appropriate department to ensure effective resolution.
  • Provide support in the repair of malfunctioning systems to ensure the availability of server services
  • Actively monitor the data Centre to ensure issues are picked out and addressed in a timely manner
  • Conduct general housekeeping to ensure a clean and tidy data Centre as per the agreed housekeeping standards
  • Monitor the data centre resources to ensure their security and functionality is achieved.
Experience
  • Minimum of three (3-4) years of experience in System administration/data Center management from an organization of similar size
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, computer engineering, information systems or any other relevant degree
Knowledge
  • Understand the Data Center Operations
  • Innovative ability
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Knowledge of professional standards,
